27 at 4:00. lisa: thank you. breaking news this morning, british singer david bowie has passed away. according to a short statement by his agent, bowie died peacefully sunday surrounded by his family and friends after an 18 month battle with cancer. the singer had just released his 25th album, "blackstar," on friday, his birthday. he was a figure in popular music for over four decades. he was 69 years old. the coach marvin lewis is expected to talk with us today. mark: a lot of people are wondering what kind of changes are going to come. espn said there are no plans to fire lewis. there are also reports of other teams scouting out the bengals' defensive and offensive coordinators. there' s also a spotlight on conduct, specifically player vontaze burfict, who some say

there' s also been a lot of talk on social media about how fans handled the game this weekend. disrespectful and inappropriate during injuries and other we' ll hear directly from coach we will continue to follow that story and bring you any developments. half a dozen people will face a judge this morning after an ugly game between the pittsburgh steelers and cincinnati bengals. while there was questionable behavior on the field, police say it also happened in the stands. these six folks were arrested saturday night for a number of charges including underage drinking, disorderly conduct and assault. lisa: a killer is on the loose this morning. police are searching for a gunman who murdered one man and injured another man in broad daylight. the shooting happened in a parking lot off compton road. tammy mutasa has the latest. tammy: the violent parking lot ambush left a chilling feeling. >> it' s a tragedy when you lose

gun violence. tammy: three men sitting in a car caught off guard by a barrage of bullets piercing windows. one man died. one was taken to uc medical center in critical condition. one escaped without injury. >> we have a guy with a gun running around that' s obviously not scared to use it, so that is of concern to us. we definitely want to get that person on the street as quickly as we can. tammy: while detectives went on a hunt for the gunman at a nearby apartment complex, anti-violence activists were searching for peace and promoting another way. >> help is available. you cannot say help is not available in cincinnati anymore. we got help for you. tammy: investigators have a they' re hoping will help detectives track down the and the saying can' t be emphasized enough. >> if you say something, say it' it' but there' s a lot of people that really believe in that, in the snitch thing, but until it

one, you feel differently. lisa: tammy mutasa reporting. investigators think maybe more than one person is involved in the shooting. they have still not released the names of the victims. if you know anything, you' re asked to call crimestoppers. the saga of the mexican drug lord recaptured on friday has taken a new turn, and it involves actor sean penn. mark: wlwt news 5' s miriah turner tells us the connection between the two from the live alert desk. miriah? miriah: mark and lisa, mexican authorities now want to speak with sean penn and mexican soap opera star kate del castillo about their secret trip to meet drug boss joaquin "el chapo" guzman. "rolling stone" published an interview "el chapo" guzman reportedly did with sean penn, who said the two met secretly it' s first interview in decades. he only agreed to take the questions, penn writes, after a previous seven-hour face-to-face meeting days before a failed

penn quotes el chapo as saying, "i supply more heroine, meth, and marijuana than anybody else in the world." on friday, the attorney general said guzman' s desire to make a movie about himself and his interaction with producers and actors eventually led to his arrest. this isn' t the first time penn has dabbled in journalism. he' s previously written articles for "the nation" and "the san francisco chronicle." in this case, "rolling stone" says it agreed that the piece would be approved by the subject. the magazine says "el chapo" m miriah turner. mark: today the empty hamilton s seat will officially be filled. dennis deters will be sworn in at the courthouse at 1:00 p.m. last week the hamilton county republican party voted unanimously for deters to replace greg hartmann. deters served as a colerain he is the brother of hamilton county prosecutor joe deters. lisa: let' s check your forecast on this monday.

randi: yesterday we woke up to the snow. my son opened the door and senate, aid, "mom, it' s christmas!" it felt like christmas yesterday morning. this morning it is all about the cold air. temperatures in wilmington, 10 degrees. it feels like 7 below. loveland it is at 8 but feeling like 2. hamilton, 13 with a negative 2 wind chill. same thing for the kids heading out to school. there are some closings and delays on the bottom of your screen.

lisa: good morning and welcome back. an exciting night for hollywood' s best at this year' s golden globe awards. mark: miriah turner joins us now with the details as well other stories trending this morning. miriah: some well-deserved awards went out last night, along with some surprises. the film that seemed to sweep the night away, "the revenant," starring leonardo dicaprio. it took home best motion picture drama, best drama performance by an actor, as well as best director. other notable wins went out to "the martian" for best motion picture comedy and best comedy performance for an actress going to jennifer lawrence for "joy." and can you say "ouch"? king james didn' t feel too royal after getting this facial with the basketball. and he obviously didn' t see one of them during warmups for yesterday' s game. it looks like he was able to laugh it off.

he is ok. the sports world and social media is still buzzing about the bengals heartbreaking loss to the steelers. many bengals players took to social media to voice frustration or offer apologies. adam jones posted a profanity-laced video blaming the refs and quickly took it down after deion sanders reportedly texted him, reminding him he' s a free agent. and jeremy hill, whose fourth-quarter fumble is arguably the moment cincinnati truly lost the game, took to twitter saying "this one' s on me. this city, this organization deserves better. only thing to do is continue to fight and come back stronger." of course we' ll have more on the aftermath coming up in sports. mark: the aftermath. miriah: that was really tough. it was painful. mark: there were some lessons to be learned.

today, 28 degrees, turning sunny this afternoon. tonight temperatures stay steady and then they fall. flurries wednesday night. friday we start with rain. guys? mark: thank you. the driver in a deadly crash in west chester is expected in court this morning for sentencing. terrance strader pleaded guilty to an aggravated vehicular homicide charge last july. the sentencing was rescheduled from its original date in early december. police say he ran a red light, hit one car and kept going before hitting and killing troy stapleton. strader was also indicted on a number of other traffic charges for that accident. lisa: tensions remain high in the philadelphia police department after a new threat against officers surfaced just days after officials say an officer was targeted. investigators say an anonymous tipster told police the threat

radical shooters are still at large. edward archer allegedly said he shot the officer in the name of islam. the tipster says archer is just one of a larger group. mark: for the first time in a presidential election primary, the planned parenthood action fund has endorsed a candidate. the organization' s president announced it at a rally in new hampshire the endorsement of former secretary of state hillary clinton for president. she said she was honored by the endorsement and promised to fight together with the organization. mrs. clinton: donald trump and ted cruz and their powerful friends may be trying to drag us back to the stone age. but we' ve got our sights set on the future. mark: hillary clinton has warned against a republican presidency and that person' s ability to sign laws to defund planned parenthood, limiting access to women' s rights and health

lisa: a local man has made the first lady' s guest list for president obama' s final state of the union address. jim obergefell, a plaintiff in the landmark case that changed marital history, tweeted this out saying, "humbled to be invited by the first lady as her guest for state of the union." obergefell became the lead plaintiff to get same-sex marriage legalized. he sued the state of ohio so his name would appear on his late husband' s death certificate. the supreme court legalized gay marriage last spring. president obama called obergefell live on tv to congratulate him. >> cincinnati' s certified most accurate forecast. randi: winter is coming on a little late for us. finally cold and snow. another couple of inches possible tomorrow. today it is all about the cold.
